A Tsunami experience and a view of my craft room

As many of you have heard about the tsunami warning we had here in Hawaii this past weekend, it was an experience for me and my family. We live right up the street from the beautiful beach which meant that we needed to evacuate in case we were hit with giant waves. My family started prepping before midnight packing our necessities and other belongings so we could leave our home when the sirens went off at 6:00 a.m. We were able to go to my sister's home in Kailua. Besides packing clothing and our living necessities, it hit me that I wouldn't be able to pack any of my craft things because there was no room at my sister's house for it nor time to pack it all before we had to leave. I kept reminding myself that we needed to worry about ourselves first; material things can be replaced - so sad. Thank goodness the tsunami was cancelled and we were able to go back home. For me, I couldn't think in a moment's notice what things I needed to pack. You just don't know until you are faced with making these kinds of decisions in a heartbeat.
It was a good thing that we had a pet carrier for Mochiko. She was so upset when she arrived at her new temporary home. I could see the anxiety in her facial expression. Here's a couple of photos of Mochiko when we got home. She was exhausted!
She didn't budge for hours! I think we all slept well that night.
Anyhoo, I wanted to share some photos of my craft room since I cleaned up a bit and had some inquiries as to what my room looked like. It's so hard to keep your room clean when you are constantly creating. Just random shots of my room...This is one of the counters and some of my ribbon bins. On the floor, you can see that I store all of my marvy punches in drawers. On the top two drawers are some of my clear stamps.
Here's one of my shelves holding scrapbooks, raks, miscellaneous sizzix dies.
My drawer full of stamps, mostly stamps by TGF, CC designs, Magnolias, Gorjuss Girls. I ran out of drawer space and am now storing them in binders.
My Sizzix shelf. I sold/gave away a whole bunch of dies, ran out of space! The shelf above has binders of Quickutz dies and miscellaneous stuff.
My ribbon cabinet. I'm still not happy with the organizing of these shelves, but this will do for now. I had a hard time cleaning especially the bottom shelf as this shelf was mom's shelf of floral ribbon. Mom used to make bridal bouquets, corsages and lei's. I spent a good amount of time crying while trying to clean cuz it brought back alot of memories.

Here are some of my loose stamps from various companies. I sorted the stamps by categories. I also have baskets to hold my punches - I was shocked that I owned so many Martha Stewart punches!
Here are all of my SU punches. I think I have all of the SU punches. The reason why it looks like there are so many is because for some of the punches, I own 2 or 3 of them (for classes). My 8 1/2" X 11" paper shelf.
My Big Shot station. I have my embossing folders in a plastic container and all of my nesties and Sizzlet dies are in these drawers.
Here's a view of my work table. My stamp pad caddy and the drawer that slides out. This table was custom made for me when I used to paint t-shirts way back when.
Here's a front view of my work table. Where's the chair?? Here's the wierd thing about me, I cannot sit and stamp/craft. I have to stand!
Thanks for sticking with me for this super long post. I hope you enjoyed your tour of my room. I actually didn't take a photo of my drawers of 12x12 papers! Happy Monday! Can you believe that it's March? I'm working on my March class projects, so announcement and pics of them to follow soon. BTW, if you're interested, the classes will be on March 13 and 14...a formal post will go out soon and I didn't forget about the OCS - that is coming up soon too!
