Scrap Pink!

Remember last October when I went "Pink" to support the Susan Komen Foundation and made those cute cards and ducky sets? Well, here is something really neat that Sizzix came up with. This cool die kit is called
"Scrap Pink" and right now, you can find it here locally at J's Knicknacks. Supporting a good cause is a good excuse to purchase one of these special kits. I just got my kit and love it! (of course more so because it's pink!!)
The kit includes: Texture Plate - Inspirational Words/Ribbon, Sizzlits Die - Ribbon, Originals Die - Ribbon, and Simple Impressions Embossing Folder - Ribbon and everything is pink! A percentage of the sales from every kit sold goes to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Let's continue our support for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by purchasing "Scrap Pink" ! I can't wait to create with this new kit. Watch for my posts!

Does this look like Aloha?

Monday morning and back at work! Boy, it was tough to convince myself that it was going to be a good day today at work after staying home since Wednesday last week!! I should be rested - not!!
Here's a card I made to send with a hawaiian care package to Nolan's new-found friend that he met on the cruise. One of the stewards that Nolan befriended lives in Indonesia and he has gone home (after a year on the ship). They have been text messaging each other off and on for a year now! I can't believe that it's been one year since we went on the Panama Canal cruise. Anyway, I thought this card sends a tropical hawaiian message (inside says ALOHA). Does this card look like Aloha?? Paper by Pebbles and stamps are from Imaginisce. These are those single clear stamps. These companies are getting smart getting us to think that the stamp is so cheap that we end up buying a whole handful, haha!! I got these stamps and papers from Cute Stuff. I was just there visiting Lianne (Hi Lianne!) and yes, I was naughty... (confession time) I did buy more than just these items you see here! (Jen, I didn't even wait til April!) I hope you're all not tired of seeing my Queen kitty, mochiko, but since getting freedom in the whole house, she's been taking her naps in various new places. Look where she found to nap yesterday - Nolan's bed! We went to the market in the afternoon and came home to find Goldilocks sleeping in baby bear's bed!
I know I said that I would be announcing my deets for my blog candy giveaway, but I didn't have time to think of what the candies would be! My March class was yesterday, so I will be posting pics of the projects. We made a mini acetate scrapbook, a peek-a-boo card and a suspension card (Thanks Dawn for the inspiration!!)
I love when you share a part of day with me!

Some fun with a new sizzix die!

Double post to catch up!!

I'm sure you all know how hard it is to walk into any craft store and not have your wallet twitching just waiting to buy something! I am NOT alone!! Well, went into J's to pick up my acetate sheets the other day and I tried hard to not look at anything else!! I thought I was doing good by resisting all of these new goodies that are hitting the stores after CHA, but look who bought a new die??? This is the pillow box die and it is super cute! To me, the size is just right and I am planning to use this in a future class. Here's what I made with my new pillow box die. I thought I'd better use one of the new stamp sets that I just bought after seeing sooooo many cute projects posted. This set is called Pun Fun. I just love this birdie!

Project details: Stamp set: Pun Fun, DS paper: Cutie Pie and Prints Designer Series certainly celery. Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Barely Banana. Stampin write markers: Barely Banana, Green Galore, Pumpkin Pie. Word window punch, scallop circle punch and 1 3/8" circle punch.

I am working on all kinds of goodies for my BIG blog candy giveaway! It's been such a long time! I'm celebrating my 1 year blogaversary and my 250th post! Yippee! I'll announce the details on how you can win in my next post!!

Big Dog gift card

Aloha Saturday! It's been a while, but I had to discipline myself and finish those kits!! What a tough choice that was to stay off of the blogs but making a commitment to do those kits was a priority for me!
Here's a cute and simple gift card holder that I made the other day. I love these cute and easy to make holders!
Here's the inside. I decided to try something different and used velcro for the closure instead of a ribbon.
project details: stamps: Big Dog by Eat Cake Graphics (my new stamp I bought from Cute Stuff); Standing Terrier Pup by Whipper Snapper and Wonderful Day by Printworks. Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug Embossing folder, caramel gingham ribbon by SU, mini brads by SU. Cardstock: old olive and ballet blue. Word window punch and 3/4" circle punch; velcro.
I am so behind on everything now, but the good news is, I'm done with the kits! So if you have ordered a kit, I will be emailing you if you requested for pick up and for the others who requested the kits to be mailed, I will be doing that today, if not, Monday. Have a great Saturday!!

Bugs!

Here's a card I made using Allison's suggestive sunday theme - Bugs! This cute guy is from the Bugs and Kisses set. I had an idea in my mind and then was disappointed when I stamped the lil' guy cuz he wasn't standing out like I pictured him to be. (Why is it a boy caterpillar?, I keep saying "he"...oh well). Then I decided to try coloring in the eyes in black and I kept going. Pretty soon, the whole darn caterpillar was dotted with black. That's okay, he turned out pretty okay. card ingredients:
stamp set: bugs and kisses
paper: bali breeze, tempting turquoise and pumpkin pie cardstock
miscellaneous: apple green grosgrain ribbon, felt flowers, rhinestone brads

Look who's back?? One of Mochiko's favorite spots to sit. That's why my work space gets smaller and smaller. She's not a large cat either!
Have a terrific Tuesday! Tonight I have alot of work to do yet on my monthly class kits. I didn't realize that it was more work than I thought it would be. For those of you who ordered my kit, bear with me...the kits will be ready soon! I'm on the stamping part right now :)

Awww, more raks!

I got this pretty card from Wini's daughter, Dawn. Thank you Dawn!! The cuttlebug swirls really added to this already pretty card and my favorite color too!!

Here's a rak I received from my bff Jen. A thank you note for her lil' birthday gift and my Valentine's rak that was returned to her :( THANK YOU! I loved both of the raks! Isn't this image of the turtle sweet?? Another Whipper Snapper image. Love the coloring sister!!
Hey!, BTW, have you all heard about the new crop-a-dile called the Big Bite?? I really love my crop-a-dile even if I have the "old" one, the pink one. I'm still debating on getting this new tool, just trying to justify it so I don't feel guiilty is what it is! Ha! TAC (The Angel Company) features this hot new item in their catalog so if you are interested in getting it at 50% off, you gotta run over to Jen's blog and click on herTAC link to find out how easy it is to get the Big Bite for 50% off! BTW, did you all see Allison's new card challenge? It's bugs! I can't wait to create a bug card! The bugs featured on Alli's card was from TAC - is it still available Jen?? Too cute!

Happy Monday everyone! Thanks for sharing a bit of your day with me! We have another holiday coming up this Wednesday! Kuhio Day! It's a state holiday!!

Easter Wishes to all of my friends!

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day. I was MIA yesterday because my downline girls were here to do our monthly projects. This month, we made two specialty cards (peek a boo card and suspension card) and a mini scrapbook using acetate as the pages and DS paper from the Jersey Shore collection. I love that paper pack because it's so bright and cheery!! I'll reveal the projects after next week's customer class. I don't want to spoil it for the ladies that will be attending. For those of you who ordered kits, they are almost done and I will try to get them out by the end of the week, then I will be emailing you the photos and links to complete the projects. Thank you for making my first month's offering of kits a success! Thanks to Wini for staying late and helping me finish up the kits. Wini just got back from vacation and I tell ya, I miss this woman! She is my right hand lady! Every time I do a scrapbook of some sorts, I go super crazy. Soooo many pieces per page, it's insane! My friend Shannon told me yesterday that I am crazy! Hey, I may be crazy, but you guys love the projects!! haha!!
Moving on...here's a Easter rak I got from sistah Cheryl M. Isn't this darling? Hey Cheryl! I shortened the handles a bit! :) Thank you for this sweet surprise! Isn't the cupcake sweet?? Love the sparkle on the cupcake, oh so pretty!
Here's the only thing I made this Easter. I made these cute match book treats, about 20 of them. Most of them went to my friends at the Hawaii State FCU. The treat? M&M's fun size candies! Got this wonderful idea from my sweet friend Dawn Griffith. She is so talented! If you haven't been over to see all of her fantastic projects on her blog, hop on over there now! She also just opened up a new blog for all of her awesome video tutorials. I tell you, this girl is my idol!

Happy Easter all! I hope to be back with more ideas this week! Have to tell you, I'm super exhausted! The day started out good - had my nails done this morning - did I tell you that I am spoiled too? My manicurist comes to my house every two weeks! Reni makes my nails look so pretty! And can you believe it that after I go and have my nails look fabulous, I had to do all of these chores - washed 5 tubs of laundry, clean my workroom putting away all of the tools and such from yesterday's gathering and clean up mochiko's house and bedding, then to top it off, cook dinner. We had pork filled oven baked chimichangas, yummy! I always try to make dinner special on the weekends cuz during the week, there's no time! I am so ready to shower and hit the pillow!! I think I just ruined my nails! geez - gotta touch them up before I sleep :) I'll stop blabbing right here. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope your Easter was a blessed one!!

ooh-la-la!

Is what thought when I saw this cute poodle image. Isn't she sassy? Looks like she's ready to go shopping! Well, here's the last of the new WS images I recently bought. I loved coloring these images and then the challenge of finding the right papers to go with it! Supplies:
Stamps: Fancy Fifi, whipper snapper; woof! by All Night Media
Ribbon: American crafts
Paper: DP: 3 bugs, stampin up. Cardstock: wild wasabe, chocolate chip, very vanilla
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa
Miscellaneous: mini brads by Lasting Impression, aqua painter

Is this cute or what?? Our office gals love to bargain hunt and Ross is one of our favorite places. Look what my boss found for me! Isn't this the cutest? The bench lifts up so you can put treasures in it. I found a matching basket too! This will sit at my desk for a while because it makes me smile everytime I see it! Okay ladies, if you're thinking of looking for some of these, I'm not sure which Ross has any. We combed through downtown, Keeaumoku, Ward...a few more to search.
More pics of the Queen. She kept me company while I cut paper for my class kits. The ol' "rest your chin on the basket" pose.
"who disturbed me?" That's the thought I see running through her mind :)
Happy Aloha Friday!! It's Good Friday today so no work for me. We're off to the Bishop Museum for a fun day!! Then, a MUST to finish my kits!!!! I'm the best procrastinator you know, where's my award? haha!! See you all tomorrow! I'm posting Easter goodies.

work for book launch

Normally I don't put the work for a show on here until after the show opens, but because the show is more about the release of the book, not the work, here they are.

They are small, 7" x 10", and there are 16 of them.... One of them is from last year, I found it in my studio and I like it a lot so I decided to include it....

Book Launch info

Okok, here is the info on the book launch.

If you are in Berlin on the 28th of March, come on out... I like making friends, but I'm pretty sick so forgive me if I look and act like a crackhead... Here's the info...

I've been talking with Marco a lot over the last few weeks, planning everything out... He seems like an amazing dude, art and design really is this guy's passion! We are doing a limited edition T-shirt for the launch as well...

Here is a photo of Marco's son wearing one of the shirts, which is pretty much the most adorable photo ever. It actually makes me want my own kid. Maybe I'll steal this one when I'm in Berlin...

So at the launch I'll have the new Die Young book, a bunch of other merchandise, and 16 small studies I've done over the last few weeks. I've mentioned them a few times on here already, but I want to thank Javier and Pablo from Belio Magazine again for all of the work they've done with the book, I think it looks really slick... For info on the book itself, follow this link.

Sweet!

I'm just loving my Whipper Snapper stamps! Here's one called Heart Strawberry 'n Mouse. I used the sentiment "sweet!!" that by Stampendous. The paper I'm using is from a SU scrapbook kit called Special Delivery Girl. I colored the mouse 'n strawberry using my ink refills and the aqua painters.

Nolan and I had a fun day out yesterday. We ran all over the place - ate lunch at Ala Moana Center, then we went to Shirokiya to check out the Japanese food samples. They were making Tako Yaki. I'm not a tako (octopus) fan, but Nolan wanted to get this so bad. We tried out the new Mochi Cream mochi - yummy! I ate a chocolate banana mochi and Nolan had the chocolate cream. This was premium mochi and super takai (expensive!) We paid $1.50 for each one! Other fun stuff we did? We went to J's Knicknacks to check out the new products (for me) and Nolan browsed at sportscards. Ladies, if you are looking for the new Sizzix dies, they are in! Cuttlebug items were low but more are on it's way! Can you believe that I finally bought a bottle of stickles?? I used to own a bunch, but back then, they just called it glitter glue - haha! I have since given those away, bummers.
Well, on our way home, Nolan suggested to me that I can go to check out Cute Stuff. I think he was up to something, always seems like that when he makes suggestions to go places where he knows I can't refuse!! Okay, there wasn't much arm twisting for me to agree that that was a good idea :) So, we went to visit my good friend Lianne (Hi Lianne! are you smiling???). Wow! Hanna Stamps, Elzybells stamps, the new Changito stamps and many more new stamps that just arrived!! I bought a "few" things and we were on our way home, both of us were happy!
Hope you all have a great Thursday! Aloha Friday tomorrow - double yippee! it's a holiday too! Going to go the Bishop Museum Animal Grossology event with Nolan and then start jamming on finishing my class kits! Demonstrator girls are coming over for their monthly inspiration!

Random studio shots...

So I just finished the work for the Berlin book launch last night, and I feel good. About a week ago I wrote on here that I thought I was going to fall off my chair and die from the hours. As it turns out, it wasn't the hours, it was a lung infection... But I got medication today so hopefully I'll be tip top by the launch on the 28th...!

Here are a bunch of random studio shots from the last couple of weeks...
